40+ years of EXPERIENCE
The firm's foundations were laid in 1981 when Gianfranco De Mennato graduated in Naval and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Naples.
In 1987, the firm became Andalò – De Mennato – Studio Tecnico Navale, developing a specialization in damage assessments and claims settlement, working alongside the London Salvage Association.
Throughout the 1990s, the scope of operations extended to include new construction supervision and technical management of vessels.
By 2005, the firm's growth led to the establishment of Gianfranco De Mennato Studio Tecnico Navale, following membership in AIPAM (Italian Association of Expert Surveyors in Marine Casualties), which is affiliated with FEMAS, the European Federation.
In response to increasing industry demand, InterSurvey S.r.l. was founded in 2006 to provide marine survey, consulting, and technical management services for commercial ships and yachts. The firm's expertise includes damage assessments, condition and valuation surveys, new builds, and refits.
In 2024, Ingg. Gianfranco & Antonio De Mennato – Studio Tecnico Navale was formed, integrating the next generation of expertise. The firm benefits from Antonio De Mennato's experience at shipyards in Livorno, where he was involved in the construction of a 107-meter yacht, and his subsequent 6 years as a Surveyor and Auditor at RINA Classification Society.
